Decided to sit in my mum's room. It's only 3 degrees cooler than mine, but she has the gigantinormous ceiling fan of doom in her room, compared with my 1/3 size fan in my much larger room. The breeze really helps. Also ordered a swamp cooler online which should be here tomorrow. At a minimum it will make sleeping more comfortable till we can get the A/C replaced. And afterward, it will work as the humidifier I've been needing to get anyway.

And the FK fans on my list will be amused with the fact I'm drinking LaCroix sparkling water! My brother brought a case of it home.

Think cool thoughts!

I remember the A/C going out in Florida during a July heat wave. I was living in an apartment, so it was impossible to get any kind of a cross breeze from opening windows on opposite sides of the house. We had do with the fans the complex supplied until the part for the A/C unit arrived and could be installed.

*snicker* Hrmmm, what sinister side effects should we expect?

An evaporative cooler. It blows the air through water. It isn't A/C but it can make the temp a little more comfortable and take it down a few degrees.

And I see that some of them have ice tanks, which might be even better.

It supposedly hit 100 degrees (F) here today. I hid inside. Luckily I have a lot of trees, so my house stays relatively cool.

We had swamp coolers in AZ. I don't think they work anywhere with high humidity.
