* Shades of the X Files and the people making a deal with the aliens and the black oil and the antidote.

* Gwen's having a baby! And Jack is so supportive.

* Did I hear right, that Evil Secret Agent Chick aka ESAC, thinks the rift is responsible for Jack not dying? (that's one thing with torrents is sometimes the sound seems smushed and I have trouble hearing some bits)

Seems the theme is family. The children, Gwen being pregnant, Jack's daughter and grandson, Ianto's sister, Martha getting married.

Hopefully with Tom and not Mickey like some silly tabloids were saying some months back. I did love Gwen telling Jack he wasn't calling her back from her honeymoon.

I'm thinking they gave the 456 those orphans back in the day but are panicing now that they're back. Maybe all the 456 want is that one kid that got away??

Yep that's what they seem to think. I doubt Jack has told anyone about the whole Rose/BadWolf thing.

Overall I was impressed with the first episode of T3. Jack's daughter is cool and him being supportive of Gwen was lovely. Ianto's family were also great, I loved that they were more comfortable talking about the Jack thing than Ianto was.

I really hope that Ianto goes a bit medieval on the bad guys in the upcoming episodes. Seeing him lose it and get revenge on the bad secret agent people for hurting Jack would be very cool.

I was thinking though, doesn't the hub have all those whizzy computers that keep the rift as stable and closed as possible? Idiot government spooks and their general asshattery. Though that does mean anything can happen rift wise from this point on.

Yup, but then RTD has to be able to get his end-of-series Big Red Button. Torchwood doesn't have a TARDIS for Bad Wolf, the Archangel Network for Tinker!Doctor, or a spare Time Lord hand anymore. Big Red Button-ness must come from the Rift. :-/
