Do I need to tell you there are spoilers under the cut? Didn't think so.
I said to Casey earlier this evening, that from the before the cut reactions on my f'list, my bet was either Ianto or Rhys got killed off. I was leaning towards Ianto only because I wasn't sure people would be *that* upset if it were Rhys.
Now I know for sure, I guess my reaction is, it's Torchwood, it's to be expected. Sorry to all the Ianto fans out there, because I was pretty upset last year when Tosh got the axe, so I know how you feel.
Overall, another strong episode. Wondering how they'll get themselves out of this pickle, or even of they will. Maybe the end of tomorrow's they'll be dead or dying and Jack will be left to wander the Earth alone. Or he can hang out with Methos since they seem to have so much in common.

Date: 2009-07-10 10:14 am (UTC)From:I am completely gutted. I haven't even been close to this bad since they killed off Cole Turner for the last time on Charmed and this is so much worse. I still haven't managed to get to sleep. I should have some water. I'm getting dehydrated.
Once Tosh was gone, I lost most of my emotional attachment to the show.
I was one of those rare souls that actually liked Owen. I wept when he was killed the first time in "Reset". I thought I took "Exit Wounds" badly, but it wasn't close to this bad. Jack/Ianto meant--means so much to me.
I always did like Jack better on Doctor Who than on TW. Strange, but true :)
I've loved Jack across the board. I flew out to Chicago for Torchsong just hoping to get to meet John Barrowman. That didn't work out like I'd hoped, but now I'm so glad I did get to meet Gareth David Lloyd there. Someday I might actually get my pictures from the photo-ops I had with him. Ianto's death hurts like it was Methos or Jack. I just... *starts to cry again* ...I'm gonna go get that drink.

Date: 2009-07-10 09:41 am (UTC)From:Well that's where I'm going to be going in my AU - a bit of mutual comfort and grieving.
I had about 2 and half hours sleep - just couldn't get any more - and I have a bloody shift in work to get through first, before the last ep. I feel like I've lost a good friend, damn them for making me care so much! I was almost this bad after Donna and Tosh, but not quite, as I didn't have muses for them and that makes a difference.

*Hugs.*
It's just... like I also said, "I thought I took 'Exit Wounds' badly, but it wasn't close to this bad. Jack/Ianto meant--means so much to me." It isn't just Ianto, it's accumulative. I said it before and I'll say it again, "I have a limit to the number of character deaths I can take in a given universe, and Owen, Tosh and Ianto will definitely be one too many."

Sometimes, he was almost human, I wanted see that become more common. Sometimes he was a total arse.
I was sorry when he died. I had hoped he and Tosh could heal one another's pain.

I'm not so much gutted about his death, more the manner of his death. It had a quiet dignity that was all Ianto, but it was unnecessary to the plot, IMHO. Bloody Torchwood.
Oh, and I cried for Tosh and Owen too, I love all the team.
