That doesn't surprise me at all. Raven and Methos both do this.

What I thought was interesting was the statement about that particular purr sounding like a baby's cry. (And it does!) And I have the same reaction: panic! Gotta find the baby, gotta take care of the baby. And I know my cats exploit that reaction. Smudge, the alpha, does it the most. The other two only join in when I ignore his cries. What's even worse? When they all three stand over by the dish and stare at me. Talk about creepy.

As I read the title of the article I looked over and Milhouse was staring at me, he needs something, so yeah .. I will have to get to the link later.

LOL.. I would say ... just a bit of control - LOL

lol, anyone who has EVER owned a cat could tell you this. I should know: all three of mine have me trained quite well!

It really is a DUH! file, anyone who knows cats knows this.

I've known this since Star Trek: The Next Generation. *points at Spot and Data*

*facepalm*

Obviously these people just waited around until they found someone dumb enough to fund their study!

Anyone who has a cat knows that! Maybe the scientists were all dog people?

Of course, learning the method they use is interesting, but the basic fact should have been known by all LOL!

I want to be one of these scientists. And get paid to discover something the rest of the known world has known to be truth for ages! (well at least every cat owner in the known universe)

We but live to serve our purring masters. It's in our contract.

*giggles* I saw this one and thought -- like you -- duh! When I had Angus (a monster of a Maine Coon) he trained me, and basically owned the apartment. The sofa was his (I could use the side chair), he ate when and what he demanded and most importantly, like a guy, he controlled the remote control. (He liked to sit on it and watch the channels change constantly. Smart cat.)

I misses my Angus!
