I never read them but everything I've heard said they are poorly written - hell Stephen King dissed Myers in his Entertainment Weekly Column - So why are they so figgin' popular.

If I want to post a comment but haven't signed into LJ yet, at the bottom of the comment field are a pair of words I'm supposed to copy to verify that I'm a person & not a web bot or something. It's the same kind of thing that some Internet contests, surveys, purchases, etc. require to avoid spam or automated entries. The words are usually curved or on a patterned background or some such so that it's difficult (or impossible) for an automated thing to read, but humans don't have any problem. Those two words were just unusually complicated!

OMFG! LOVE you for this. I have long been of the mind that Twilight is a bit...off. No one else I know seemed to agree with me though, until recently anyways. (watched the movie with my cousins and we made fun of the whole thing, lol) I will find time to read all her posts, lol.
