Cake

It's my mum's birthday today - 75 - and I'm making her a devil's food cake. She also requested a curry, but since the spices haven't arrived in the mail yet, I'm making her next favourite, cheese grits with shrimp. She ended up having today off, so she can actually eat her birthday dinner at dinner time and not when she gets home at 11pm.

Not so much when I was growing up. My grandmother thought it was a waste to have two cakes/parties so close together, so I always had to share my birthday.
