DVD Commentary Short Form

I've done the DVD commentary before (it even has its own tag!), but this new one going around is more of a 'short form' version.

Seen all over, but most recently at hils.

Pick a paragraph (or any passage less than 500 words) from any fanfic I've written, and comment to this post with that selection [Note: Please include the title/fandom & a link wouldn't be bad if it's something older]. I will then give you a DVD commentary on that snippet: what I was thinking when I wrote it, why I wrote it in the first place, what's going on in the character's heads, why I chose certain words, what this moment means in the context of the rest of the fic, lots of awful puns, and anything else that you'd expect to find on a DVD commentary track.

Then he heard the sound of an axe splitting wood down behind the stable. Giving the horse a final pat, he headed out the back to investigate. He rounded the corner to find the object of his search – chopping wood. Chris felt his blood pressure rise. He loved Charlotte for her independent streak, but god damnit! Sometimes he thought she did things like this just to vex him. She had sons, ranch hands, she had him! And yet she persisted in doing things she had no need to be doing. This ended now! He’d be damned if people were going to think he didn’t treat his wife right, making her work like a field hand.
