I'm pretty much giving up on catching up. I can't even seem to get to comments left last week. But seems the Mag 7/White Collar snippet was popular. So maybe I need to write that story.

It has been decided I need to get a Blackberry so I can have at least some internet access at work. Being totally cut off is very painful. So next month, we'll hit the Verizon store and see what they can set me up with.

We've had snow this week. Not enough to really impact anything, but it sure has been pretty!

Did I mention our side trip to Calico Ghost Town? Can't remember. Well, it's just outside of Barstow, well, Yermo, actually. Anyway, I've wanted to go there for years, but it was always too late, or we had the cat with us. This time, on the way home from Dland, we made a stop and absolutely loved it!! Tri-tip buffet - OMG!! And cute little shops and just so full of atmosphere. Really put me in a Mag 7 mood, especially the old saloon, which was dilapidated and so much still like it would have been in the 1800s. Definitely a place we'll visit again.

I realized why I've felt so awkward at the new job - I'm using a mouse! See, I use a trackball, which I can use with my right hand. A mouse, I can only use with my left hand. I'm used to using the trackball with my right, and having a pen in my left, and using both at once. With just the mouse, I have to take my hand off, pick up the pen, write, then go back to the mouse. It's making me nuts. Very inefficient. So I ordered my usual trackball for work. I was told I can provide my own if I like. Hopefully, that will help me sort my desk better. I also think I'll get another keyboard like I'm used to using as well.

Random celeb gossip: heard some of the staff talking to a guest at the Disney Grand Californian during our stay, and Kobe Bryant is an utter jerk as a guest there, but Johnny Depp is absolutely wonderful.

Appreciate all the comments I've been getting, and the snowflakes I see on my profile page! I may not be able to reply to them all, but I have read every one.

Just do what you need to do and know that we're all here for you and understand. Whenever you get back to is fine.

And yes, the Mag7/White Collar snippet continuation would be great!

I'm so happy the new job is going well, desk logistics aside.

And it's great to hear that Johnny is a sweetie in person.

I need to go to Calico some year. It's only about 130 miles from me. Make a good day-trip! :-)

Trackballs are great! Have one on our desktop at home and it's so easy to use.

How's the job going otherwise?
