I hate DST. Why can't we just keep the time the way it is all year? [grumble] [hiss] boo] Yes, ,y annual 'spring forward' bitch LOL

Thanks to pat_t I remembered I needed new luggage. The wheel on my suitcase was crushed on the Phoenix trip last year. Lord, I would have been unhappy if I'd gone to pack for San Antonio having forgotten about it. Pulling a one wheeled suitcase across an airport ain't no fun! Found a nice Samsonite spinner on clearance at a place online, so ordered it yesterday.

Musing about Jack Sparrow, but I think that needs its own post.

I wrote a few sentences of West last night, but as I was getting started, Nin was done with her game for the day and we switched on the TV. Maybe I can get my chores done earlier today and get started. Maybe.

So maybe this will inspire me: Ask me a question about one of my stories and/or characters. It can be absolutely anything and I will tell you the honest-to-god answer. Don’t hold back. Ask about my plans for future parts of a current series if you want to, but keep in mind that I may not have anything firm/definite in the works. Anything. Whatever you ask, I will try my best to answer. (cheerfully pillaged from hils)

I'm not a fan of DST. The fact that the US and Europe don't change on the same date makes it even more annoying. When posting times in icontests, I have to say "be careful, we're one hour closer than usually coz you guys have switched and we haven't". And for icontests I'm planning to take part it, I have to think about when the deadline is. It's not extremely complicated to count, but math isn't my strong suit. :P

I don't like trying to figure out the difference either. And they keep changing when the time changes - it's not like it used to be where it was the same day each year.

They've decided at the EU-level that we would change on the last week-end of March and the same in October. At least, now, all I have to do is remember if we're switching clocks forward or backward. :P

So far, the only other one planned is Molly Tanner, Vin and Cecily's granddaughter - and Ezra's second wife. She was an OSS agent during WWII - maybe you can get Casey to write that story! [g]

DST is nice when the hour goes up and I'm at work though. Not so nice when it falls back. I try to make sure I'm off that night.

I did not mind DST in April...when it was still light in the morning when I woke up...but it's really hard to get the kids up when its an hour early AND dark again.

The thing that bugs me the most about it (disliking the new DST is a pet peeve I'm trying to leave behind) is the statement by the guy behind it that if they made it later in Nov, kids could trick-or-treat in the light...

What?????

Of course, they wait for the dark and go to bed later.
