A More Permanent Hell

Summary: When Tony Stark's involved, there are always circumstances.

Notes: This is a gift fic for Strangevisitor7, who has had a crappy last few months, and had an even worse Friday.

It's a One Shot, an AU of an AU (of an AU?) (Is there such a thing?) and it exists in its own time-stream. It is not a part of any of my current series that you may or may not be familiar with—[points up] AU of AU (of an AU), right? It only exists to—hopefully—bring a smile to its recipient's face.

This is it, 'the weird story' I've been talking about. Many thanks to ninjababe & jedimasterstar for looking it over to make sure I maintained the same tense all the way through. It's one I've never written in before.

Still What We Are

( A knock at the door, soft, suiting the dark hours of the predawn. She has no idea of whom it might be, only who it isn't. Tony doesn’t knock, well not usually. Besides, he had already dropped by earlier in the day. Pulling open the door, her eyes widen a bit in surprise, having heard her late night visitor was taking a leave of absence. One, that Charlotte had assumed, would take her far from Manhattan, and not alone, at least for a while. )

Everything Old Is New Again

( Methos slipped into the house, shrugging out of his coat, hanging it on one of the hooks behind the kitchen door. It was so early, the sun was only now beginning to lighten the blackness of the sky. It had been one of those nights where he couldn't decide if he was up early, or had stayed up late. And those were always the nights that he sought the solitude of the dark, walking in silence, whether it be the streets of Paris, or the coastline of central California. )
