So the only thing on this announcement was not to talk about it on the PWFC list until Sunday, till all the members had a chance to see the video message from Peter, nothing about it being a secret in general, but I'll lock this post anyway.

Peter Wingfield is giving up acting to go back to medical school. Honest to God. As if I could make something like that up! As I said to [livejournal.com profile] pat_t: I'm surprised, but okay with it. Only our guy, huh? He hasn't been in a lot lately, and honestly, he's wasted in so much of what he has been in. Maybe this was always his path, just with a little detour. I said to Nin , 'you know that saying? I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV? Hah!'

I hope this new chapter in his life brings him fulfillment and joy.

Home from San Antonio. We had a lot of fun, and it was great seeing so many friends, make a few new ones, not to mention seeing all the sights. I walked alot! Great city, and one I hope to visit again soon. Not really much to say about the con itself other than Peter was Peter, and the two Riverworld guests seemed like very nice people. Oh, and Nin has the quote list here.

Did I miss anything thrilling and exciting while I was away?

I saw a few weeks back on the Road Trip list that you could wear historical outfits on Sat at the mixer. I'm tempted! I have a wonderful Edwardian outfit, but decided it was too many layers of velvet and silk for the season, but then I remembered I have a 20s style flapper dress I could wear! But I need shoes. And I don't want to be to be the only one in costume either. Must ponder.

This time three weeks from now, we'll be in San Antonio! Have started to think about what to pack. And we've decided to go to Vegas after work Wednesday night -- I get nervous having an early morning flight that requires a 2+ shuttle ride first. This way, we'll be at a hotel right near the airport with fewer worries.

So iof all goes as planned, Nin and I are going to the PWFC Road Trip in San Antonio next year. Now you know, I'm a research junkie, so I've already signed u p for the San Antonio tourist board and have gotten my packet, plus frequent emails. We were watching the new season of Racheal Ray's Vacation on Food Network, and what do you know, she did an ep in San Antonio! So we now have a nice list of possible restaurants to try. Everything from breakfast, a tea room, BBQ, splurge dinner, and a Mexican place that's open 24/7, 365 days a year since 1940. YUM! My tummy can't wait.
