ithildin: (Methos - Last Beer)
I'm stealing this from one of my own emails, with some additional stuff.

Say that 10-15 years from now they revisit Highlander as a TV series. Would you like to see them take the original TV series and remix it like they did with Battlestar Galactica, or would you prefer the Star Trek route, using the universe and the history, but with new characters? Or something else entirely?

Same question for fellow fans of a few of my other main fandoms:

Blake's 7?

Forever Knight?

I'm just odd question girl the last few days :)

Hmmm... I didn't include Dr. Who since the way the show is set up, it's always reinventing itself depending on which incarnation of the Doctor they're in. At least for me, that's how it's been. That's one of thie things I've found interesting is the way many of the new fans latched onto Rose, despite the fact that companions come and go. That's integral to Dr. Who. But that's a whole other subject, I guess [g] I seem to be tangent girl the last week. [oooh! new bright shiney... wanders off to new pretty topic]

The new Doctor seems to have a bit of a different dynamic - not 9 so much, but 10 we are clearly being encouraged to see as a romantic figure, and companions as almost girlfriends. That, I think, makes things a *bit* different. That, and us old-time people are used to the changing cast of companions, while the newbies haven't seen that and, while they may have *heard* that companions come and go, they haven't *seen* it happen.

Finally catching up with Season 2 - up to Cybermen - I'm kind of astonished to see that the Doctor is being portrayed as a bit of a woobie. Huh!
