ithildin: (Art - Shadow Willow)
We had to have my mum's cat, Willow, put to sleep week before last. She was only 7, and my mum's special kitty. The vet paid for her cremation, telling us they have a special fund and we'd done so much in rescuing her, and all the other cats, that they wanted to do that for her. Early this morning, my baby Tuppence died in his sleep. He was 20, but he was my perpetual kitten. He was tiny, a Siamese Manx. I thought we were going to lose him at Christmas, but he seemed to perk up, so Glenn took him to the vet for a checkup and she said for his age, he was remarkably healthy. Last week, he was like a kitten again - racing around, stealing food, teaching the kittens how best to steal food. About two days ago, he just seemed to start fading away, and around 2am he was gone. He was always there in the morning at the kitchen tap, so I would turn the water on for him to drink. He loved his fresh water. I'm going to miss him. But he's with his best buddy Wellington, who we lost during that tainted Iam's pet food debacle. I'm sure Wellington haunts the house, so maybe he's at peace now that he has his brother with him.

You take such good care of your kitties. There's a special place in heaven for them. And you :)
