Just read on my f'list that Warehouse 13 has been renewed, which is terrific news, but what really had me whopping was learning that an H.G. Wells spinoff is in development! The only thing that would make it more perfect would be if it was a show with Helen and Micah, but I'll take what I can get [g]

Last season, she clearly stated the death of her daughter, Christina, had shown her that humanity was still full of heathens and monsters.

Oh! The Warehouse 13 wiki says her daughter was killed in 1899, and the flashback sequences in 3x05 were 1893. With Jack joining the Warehouse six years before her daughter's death the timeline is bound to be different. How much canon is there on her daughter in general, and her daughter's death specifically?

From what I remember, HG came home and some intruders had killed Christina. It's been AGES since I've seen the episode where it was explained, but I clearly recall that's what happened to her.

Seems like the canon has been changed in relation to that, too. I'd imagined Helena was in black as she came down the stairs out of mourning for her daughter. I would've thought if Christina were still alive, she would've made reference to it. At least in present day. I can't even remember if she said if it was after Christina's death in present day or not. Then again, I've been up since 3 AM.

It's been AGES since I've seen the episode where it was explained, but I clearly recall that's what happened to her.

I'll have to see if I can track down the episode. The wiki on Christina says, "Little is known about Christina Wells, but here are the facts: She is the only child of Helena G. Wells. She was eight when she was murdered. She was likely born in 1891 as she died in 1899. Her Mom loved her."

Assuming that timeline is right then Christina would've been two in the flashbacks in 3x05, not eight much less dead.

I'd imagined Helena was in black as she came down the stairs out of mourning for her daughter.

I don't remember the color of the dress she was wearing before she changed into men's clothes, but I'd have thought if she was in mourning for someone then someone at the party, or Woolly himself, would have offered her some condolences. Nobody seemed to view her as if she was, or should, be distressed.

If Christina was two at the time, in the Victorian flashbacks, it'd be appropriate for the child to be "out of sight out of mind." The saying, "Children should be seen and not heard," is a Victorian one.

At least in present day.

Ah. I can't remember if there was any mention of H.G. having had a daughter in the episode. I'll have to give it a rewatch clearly.

Then again, I've been up since 3 AM.

Yeah, she did. That I've gotten checked. It means, if they/she said her daughter died in 1899 second season, one of two things has happened--

1) They not only changed H.G. Wells' characterization third season, but the date of her daughter's death. They shifted it from 1899 to 1891.
Or
2) They/she haven't told the real story about Christina's death yet.

I really need to know which episode the first version of Christina's story is in, and get a look at it. I need to know if the only way in which Christina's story has been told is by/through H.G. Wells. Whether or not there has been any sort of independent verification of the story makes a difference. Though how much of one might be debatable. I don't know how much H.G. Wells might have been able to fudge over the outside data. I really need to know more about her.

*Nods.* It's okay. I like to do research. It just takes time. I mean for the first time in what feels like a long time I've got three stories I really want to not just get written, but done right. It's just one requires revisiting Auschwitz while it was actively in operation as a Nazi Death Camp, one requires studying up on a character in a TV series I only watched a bit its first season, and one involves finding the voices of characters I loved when I was younger but haven't seen in years.
