Sign of the Future Internet?

I never thought Twitter would become the place online where I have the most interaction with people. LJ seems to be fading away, and everyone has moved on to other internet locales. Since I don't do Facebook, I guess it's me and Twitter - at least till something else presents itself! Which I hope it does not too far in the future.

I'll be honest: I couldn't stomach Twitter. Tried and failed. The word limit was far too restrictive; I felt as though nothing of substance could be said, and so everyone was reduced to speaking in bumper-sticker slogans.

But I'm old and crotchety, don't ya know. ;)

I've been spending a lot of time on various LJ communities recently that seem to be quite active, but it's not a fair sampling, to be sure.

I was one of the last to give up on email lists and was dragged kicking and screaming onto LJ. I'm sure 10 years from now, I'll be someplace else and feeling nostalgic for LJ LOL
