It Went Well

Work 'Winter Dinner' went well last night. I did little table favours for everyone to take home, and had a few door prizes that we raffled off at the end. The food was good, and everyone seemed to enjoy it, even though people basically arrive, eat, the bosses make a little speech and then everyone flees. I think we could accomplish the same thing by ordering some pizza, but that's just me. Nin and I did stay about 1/2 hour more, chatting with my project manager and his wife. They're also California natives and are equally baffled by the eat and scoot holiday parties in Utah.

Our holiday parties in the past at this job have been much the same -- eat, take pictures run -- but that could be because in the past, we got the rest of the day off (well, most people did, legal always returned to the office because there's enough work here for twice the number of staff we have!).

Of course, this year, with the merger/buyout, we have no party.
