I ended up writing the sequel to Transformative Variations - 3000 words in so far. To keep with the title theme of the prequels, this one is titled Equivocal Coalescence. I watched the Hotel de Paris scene from IM II over and over and over, trying to get bits of the dialogue right that I needed for the story. I think this is the first tome I've written a story set during the movie itself. So, going to write some more tonight. I hope. I will be nice to finally wrap up the arc that started with Practical Applications - and just in time for IM III!

Speaking of, did you see the new theatrical trailer?!?!?! OMG! I am beside myself with excitement and anticipation. Can't wait to meet up with all our peeps in Vegas for the midnight showing!

TV stuff that's made me happy: Justified! Great season so far, and last night's was stellar. Adding to my squee is that I was so right as to the identity of Drew! I did a little victory dance around the room :D

I want chicks! We have plans for more chickens, but unfortunately that requires my brother to expand the coop, which he hasn't done yet. And yet, I want chicks now!! Several people on the Utah board of My Backyard Chicken are hatching chicks right now, and I wants some! I'm probably going to have to wait till next spring though :(

Works continues apace. Have to go up to Salt Lake next month for a managers meeting. Last time they hauled us up there was three + years ago, and I'd only been with the company a few months. Now, I'm the only office manager left from that meeting (7 of us). Believe me, the thought I could be next/last has not escaped me.

The fruit trees in the orchard have started to bloom. I love fruit tree blossoms! We're about to get hit with a big storm Friday, so lots of rain would be great timing!

Haven't had a chance to read my f'list for a few days, tried to at least take a stab at it now, but I give up. My frustrating employee work situation has not gotten better, and my patience is slipping as my blood pressure rises. By the time I get home, after a ten hour day, I pretty much just get as far as the TV. And the wine.

Miss you guys, hope to get back into the normal routine soonish.

Work 'Winter Dinner' went well last night. I did little table favours for everyone to take home, and had a few door prizes that we raffled off at the end. The food was good, and everyone seemed to enjoy it, even though people basically arrive, eat, the bosses make a little speech and then everyone flees. I think we could accomplish the same thing by ordering some pizza, but that's just me. Nin and I did stay about 1/2 hour more, chatting with my project manager and his wife. They're also California natives and are equally baffled by the eat and scoot holiday parties in Utah.

I had the bright idea yesterday of shifting some offices around to improve work-flow, and my two bosses said, let's do it! Tomorrow! So me, boss one, sales guy, and the tech office all moved. That was going to be work enough, but boss two convinced me to paint my new office first. So she and I painted. That took us to about lunch time, then I still had to get all the furniture in, get my computer set up, etc.. I'm exhausted, and I hurt. My bad hip did not appreciate today's exertions one bit. Came home and promptly fell asleep. Oh, the colours I used were a teal blue peacock on two walls, and a sea foam blue/green on one wall. We left the cinder block wall white since the desk was up against it and the corkboards were bolted in. It looks really nice, even if it's not the neatest pain job ever [g]

I started my morning by slicing a chunk of my finger off on the warehouse door, then I had to fire someone. Also, other growl inducing things happened to make for a really crappy day. Oh, and I had a coworker's car unintentionally towed to top it off.

Today, Nin went to PAWS, a local pet rescue organization to see if we could get help with the last litter of kittens - who are at 8 weeks now - to be told they have so many kittens, they're sending 50 to a Denver shelter this week. So no help there. It appears we have an unintentional cat rescue thing going here. Too bad we can't solicit donations.

I'm a real ray of sunshine this week.

And it's only Wednesday.

Decided the kittens needed to not be in the garage as they are now hiding and you can't get to them to bring them out, so I now have all six in my room and they spent their first night. ARGH! They're adorable, but they are manic LOL Not to mention, my allergies are going haywire. And mama cat keeps wanting in and out of the room. At 5am, she leapt on my bedside table and started whacking at the doorknob to try and get me to comply with her wish to leave. Couldn't let her run all over the house since our other cats and hers have issues, so had to get her back in the garage. Now she's on the portable table next to me that I use for the work I bring home. Speaking of which, I have payroll to do this weekend. I have brought work home every day this week. So I need to finish payroll, I need to put away all the stuff from the trip, clean, do laundry and figure out my finances. The fun never ends! Nin and I are hoping to squeeze in a second viewing of IM II Sunday night, so I have that to look forward to.

My last EOM closing of the year, and forever. Monday starts my last week, seventeen years and 204 closings later. Actually, 203 since I missed one when I had pneumonia.

They sent us home way earlier than normal on Christmas Eve. The payroll system still isn't working and I was told not to worry about it -- we'd deal with it Monday. So I'm not going to worry about it and instead enjoy the beginning of my four day weekend!

Need to make Nin her pumpkin pie here in a bit, but other than that, I'm footloose and fancy free!
