This was the link I posted at lunch, that for some reason, refused to appear.

Paula Deen's English Peas Recipe ~ the comments, oh the comments!!!.

I really did laugh till I cried.

This is the recipe:

Ingredients
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
2 cans (14 1/2-ounces) English peas, drained

Directions
Melt the butter in small pot and add the peas. Cook over medium heat until peas are warm.

The comments nearly killed me.

Excuse me but did the recipe call for ((((canned))))))?????

The chefs at Food Network would be scolding you up one side

Absolutely. It makes a mockery of real cooking.

Thank you—I just read a couple pages of the comments to my S.O., and we laughed until we couldn't stand it any more and had to stop.

I hide in the conference room at lunch with my phone and hit the internet. I really was sitting there with tears running down my face. About ten minutes later, my boss came in with his daughter wanting me to notarize something. He would have thought I'd lost my mind had he come in any earlier.

Oh my word!!!!!
Who are these people who reviewed her 'recipe' and gave it four or five stars??
e.g

"Tried it and LOVED IT! I can always count on Paula for the best."

They must have all graduated from the same culinary school as my father's mother.........
Dad said he had the decent food of his life when he joined the Navy...........

The only decent canned peas are mushy peas which you wouldn't want to cook with butter - you need to eat them with fish n chips!

The comments on that have had me in hoots, thanks for sharing.

My mother called those sloppy peas. I called them repulsive.

It's bad enough this calls for canned peas, but TWO bloody cans! Seriously?!

Good lord. Canned peas with butter poured over them? That's a recipe? Even when I was in my first apartment in college days we cooked better food than that! At the very least you could add some herbs into it!

I need to look into my own cooking show. I know way more recipes than these people, and much better ways of cooking.
