I don't think he's going to bed any of the regular cast. I think there is someone already taking up that place in his heart - hence the 3 broken engagements. Maybe he's bi and has a boyfriend he can't work out of his system. Or a wife or another woman he still pines over. He was very gentle with his ex - and he plainly hinted that there was a true underlying reason why he couldn't go through with it and if he had, she would be miserable and worse off for the pain.

I think he and Jac make great nemesis for one another - that would be ruined with a roll in the hay.

If it weren't a soap opera, I'd say it was a possibility, but reading the BBC site, it seems like the entire staff is sleeping with one person after another [g] Only time will tell!
