First Time Ever

I ran into somebody I don't know using one of my icons, as her default actually, which is cool. I didn't realize some of my icons had drifted out to third and fourth generation users [g] However, I went to her LJ, and come to find she hasn't credited me, or anyone else, whose icons she's using. So I'm wondering if I should pass on to her that it's good LJ netiquette to credit icons or not? It's not a big deal, just wondering since I've never run into the situation before.

Sometimes I'll see people posting in icon communities to the effect of "I've had these and don't know who made them, and just found out I should be crediting. Anyone know whose they are?" But I'm not sure what I would do if they weren't asking.

Maybe just drop a comment saying, "Hey, so cool to see someone I don't know using one of mine, and as your default too!" and not mentioning credit right away? Then see how they respond?

GMTA! I did do just that [g] She'd used the icon commenting on another LJ, so I left a comment telling her how cool it was to see my icon being used.
