Dark Knight, Air Date: May. 1992

Someone is killing a number of homeless people and draining their blood. Then a museum guard is killed the same way and a special artifact is stolen, a Mayan cup that Nick believes can help him become mortal again. Nick suspects that his old mentor Lacroix is in town and behind the murders. Forced into a partnership with the unbearable Detective Schanke, Nick has to face both Lacroix and the Homeless Killer while trying to protect his friends.. ~ via tv.com

This is probably a good time to mention it, but there's quite a bit of (usually) good natured ribbing between character factions. LillieW, who you've seen commenting, for example, is a Nick and Natpacker, and I'm a Cousin and a Ravenette (LaCroix and Janette are my favourite characters). And we've spent about ten years picking on each other over that :) So no one take anything I say too seriously, k? I'll try and remember to use emoticons when I'm just kidding around.

I'm a Vaquera (Vachon fan) first and foremost (as if people couldn't tell by my nickname) with Natpacker (notice the lack of Nick), Cousin, and Ravenette tendencies.

So this should be fun.

I liked Vachon as well. I would have loved to see him and Janette interact. I actually wrote him for the first time a few months back. I hadn't planned on it, but he just walked into the story :)

Have you ever seen Ben's Stargate ep? I didn't recognize him 'til later. He was clean-shaven and with short hair, after all.

Fan Groups?

Not to sound dumb, but what is a Vaquera, Cousin, Natpacker, Ravenette, etc? If they relate to favorite characters, what are Schanke fans, Tracy fans, or any of the rolling Captain fans called?

Cousin really has me perplexed.

As an FYI my favorite character is LaCroix. Next to Methos of Highlander he is the most intriguing character ever on TV, and has all the best lines not to mention "attitude".

Then there's all sorts of couples factions.

Cousins... we're called Cousins (and my memory on this is slightly hazy) because a Knightie on FORKNI who hated frogs, got sent toy frogs by two different LaCroix fans, and she made the comment that they must be cousins. It became the faction name.

Was there not some 'Uncle' reference in another episode... Lacroix referring to himself as Uncle or am I picking that up off something else???

AFAIK, 'Uncle' is a strictly fandom term.

But Nigel knows about it, is greatly amused by it, and has been known to autograph things, "Uncle Nigel." :-)

Well, he was on FORKNI for many years, so he was pretty plugged into the fandom.

I do believe it's a VERY early thing from the FK fandom. I'm sure one of the elder fen could explain it better than I, but basically, a couple of the fans randomly adopted LaCroix as their uncle and it sort of spread from there. IIRC.
