Earthquake!! Chair rolled. Heart beating very fast. In the high 4's I think.

Later: No magnitude yet, but it was close, on the San Andreas about ten minutes from here.

And: it was a 4.3 -- felt stronger because it was close and shallow.

Now to decide if I want to go up to the loft as I usually do for lunch. I work in a three story unreinforced cinderblock warehouse, and if this was a foreshock, I don't want to be upstairs with no protection.

Oh, dear! That's terrifying. I hope you don't have too many aftershocks! Take care of yourself and let us know what's happening.

Seems that was it [knocks wood] It got just bad enough that I was pondering leaping under the desk :)

Yep, we're fine. Anything that was bad would mean no internet access, so if I can post about it, all is well :)

Ah, of course. :D We have to deal with hurricanes here, rather than earthquakes. :)

I hope you were careful and are safe.

It's always those few seconds when you don't know if it's just a normal small quake, or is the beginning of another Loma Prieta. The anticipation is the worst part!

hehe,
you can tell who's lived in Calif. for a long time.
We start taking bets on the maganatude almost as soon as the shaking stops.
Didn't feel anything here in Anaheim.
Glad you are okay.
Mother Nature just likes to keep us on our toes.

We didn't feel anything in Scotts Valley today.

The big thing we all do after an earthquake is go to the USGIS site and report "Did you feel it?" :)
