I've shucked the tomatillios, am roasting garlic, cleaned the kitchen, talked to my mum, talked to Nin. Now what? Maybe I'll try to at least make an attempt at finishing 'A Breath of Snow and Ashes' -- it's taking me forever to finish!

Watch Jericho, tonight's episode isn't a bad one to watch even if you haven't seen the show before.

Heh, I got to talk to two of the actors from the show on the phone tonight on a live Internet radio broadcast.. So very unwallflower-ish of me!

'A Breath of Snow and Ashes'

I don't know that novel. Who wrote it? What's it about?

It's the latest in the 'Outlander' series by Diana Gabaldon. The first is 'Outlander (http://www.amazon.com/Outlander-Diana-Gabaldon/dp/0440242940/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-1337101-9931916?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1185600091&sr=1-1)'. This is the 5th or 6th, I've lost track :) One of my favourite series for the most part.

My Lord, that sounds like a wonderful read! And hey, anything involving Scotland, the dialect, and the 1700's?? Always a good time. I'll definitely have to check this out! Thanks! ;D

They're really excellent, especially the historical detail.

Fabulous! I love historical accuracy and detail is fiction.

I started that last year, now that you remind me, and I never did finish. Hmm, where did I put that book?

I guess from your post that you still love the series? THere was the one book that took place in like a week period and it drove me crazy, but the first two rocked my world. Maybe this one will too, if I can ever remember where I was...

The one I didn't really like was... [checks Amazon] Voyager. But this one is good, just really loooong, and I'm having trouble sticking with it and finishing it :)

Yes, Voyager kind of lost its mind there at the end. I love Jamie and Claire and the daughter, Bree?, but some of the books just dragged on. And it was supposed to be 6 books, but the last book does not seem to be the end, so I guess they will just keep going, and going.

PS - She is adorable in real life. I flew to Arizona (from Cali) for a book signing of hers and she was delightful.

Just thought I would share.

I got a book signed by her for a friend's birthday years ago. My very brief impression was that she was quite nice :) (It was a very large Highland Games and it was a zoo!)

Your first impression was correct. She was charming and really personable in the reading and then spent a ton of time talking to people as she signed books.
