With Philly fast approaching, I guess it's time to decide what I actually want to see and do.

Started out at the National Constitution Hall website. It appears to have all the bases covered.

So far, I'm leaning towards the Constitutional Guided Walking Tour. Seems to cover all the bases. Unfortunately, none of the evening tours fit in with the con schedule. There's also a 24 hour trolley pass available.

Our hotel actually has a pretty comprehensive Philly guide I just discovered while looking for airport to hotel info (There is a $20.00 flat rate on cabs to Center City Philadelphia.) They even have a beer guide [g] and there's a Chinatown in Philly. I didn't know what. I do know I want to have a meal at the City Tavern. Maybe an early Friday night dinner?

We arrive Thursday night, and leave Monday night, so I hope to squeeze as much as I can into the free time we have.

Go to Chinatown, but make it early so you can also get to the central market which is only a few blocks away. If I'm remembering correctly, the Central Market is on the front side of the Convention Center and Chinatown is on the back side of the Center.

I had one of the best diners there in Chinatown (great duck!) and if I could remember the name of the place I'd tell it to you, but it was just one of many little Chinese restaurants in the area.

You could do lunch and shopping at the Central Market, then wander around and have dinner in Chinatown.

If you've got a rental car (or a local who will take you) Valley Forge is just into the suburbs now, so you could go there as well.

Thanks for the tips! Roberta's bringing her car, so maybe we could convince her to take us to Valley Forge!

There's always The Cave (http://www.menofthecave.com/). Image

Constitution Hall is pretty neat, I did that once. I was there with a bunch of Adrian fans, and our tour guide turned out to be a HL fan. Only she said she kinda liked "that other guy" better. *snickersnerk*

The Liberty Bell is outside in a park-like area.

Other than that, all I remember is a lot of eating and drinking and being very silly. And yep, we did go to The Cave. One of the girls worked there at the time, and we got special treatment. Image

And yep, we did go to The Cave.

Somehow, this does not surprise me [g]

You know, most of my con memories are pretty much silly and drinking too. The Reno Roadtrip was Tiki cups and the Sombrero of Power, as far as I can recall. Oh, and coffee Diablo and Jen sticking bottles of wine in her monster bag [g]

I've only been to the east coast once, and that was nine years ago in November and a a week in Cape Cod with a bunch of gals who were Methos and Forever Knight fans. So I'm really looking forward to this!

Sounds fun.......

I've never been to Philly, but it's one of the places that I'd eventually like to go. I really wish that I could go this time around, because it sounds like you're going to have a ball!
