That's what it reminds me of! I've been pondering the new Star Trek and the age of the cast, and I finally realized what it is I'm reminded of: Baby Disney! Or Baby Looney Tunes. Either works. I'm not sure that's what they were going for, but that's in my brain now. Especially the guy playing Spock. Lord! Baby Trek, coming soon to a toy store near you.
How come Kirk is driving a car?! In 'A Piece of the Action' I'm pretty sure he doens't know how to drive a car. Unless the one he's driving in the preview is all automated, but it sure didn't seem like it.

Date: 2008-11-24 05:33 pm (UTC)From:I'm not sure it's going to be as bad as that.Yes, J.J. Abrams freely admits he wasn't any kind of Star Trek fan going into making the movie, but he supposedly put together a team to make the movie that ranged from die hard fans to keep the canon straight for him to another non-fan like himself to be sure to keep the story accessible to non-fans.ETA: Forgot, it will have Leonard Nemoy's Spock in it. It will have more than just the names in common with TOS. Question is how the time travel in the story is or isn't used to weave things together.
