The internetz are dead tonight [pokes] where is everyone?

Nin and I got through two of the three SPN eps we were behind on and wow! I am so loving this season. I've always enjoyed the show, but this season has really pulled me in. We haven't seen the last one, but hopefully by the weekend. As for Dean... we just want to squish him and comfort him [sniff] And I love Cas the more I see him.

This seems to be a polarizing season - either you love it or you don't. I can't stand the turn the show's taken this season. It just feels ... ridiculous. But, well, I still care enough to wan to know what happens to these people.

This is the first season I've really gotten into. Though I still can't claim to feel fannish about it all :)

I don't read the fic, or participate in any of the email lists or comms, so honestly, I'm watching it with just Nin to talk about it with afterward. I have no idea what the fans think, and sometimes, that's nice.

I think the only season I really felt fannish about SPN was season two. I was so into that season, it was nuts.

I do what I can to avoid fandom at large. It's way too batfuck insane. I just have the people on my F-List and they're fairly divided. I've had at least four people stop watching this season; two very early on, and the other two just recently. Some are still watching with the hope it improves (me being one) and the others are into it big time. Which is fine, that it works for them. I'm glad you're digging it, I only wish I could. :/ I'll shut up now.

I didn't start watching SPN till S2, though saw some S1 repeats. I hated Sam's character on Gilmore Girls, Dean, and that kept me from watching it initially. Yeah, i know, stupid, but... :) Plus, I was still watching CSI at the time and there were too many things on at the same time. But after I watched it for a bit, CSI lost its recording spot to SPN [g]

You don't need to shut up. Believe me, there's shows I've loved to pieces that I just stopped watching cold. I really think what's sucked me into SPN lately is the Angels. It's a thing for me.

Heh, I understand where you're coming from, and I've avoided an actor/actress's other projects because I'd hated a character they played in something else. Sometimes, I'd realize it was just that character, then others I'd realize it was actually the actor/actress who bugged me.

I love the idea they have with the angels, it's just not working for me on SPN. Beyond the execution, it's the whole notion of it. I'm always commenting it reminds me of the manga Angel Sanctuary, which was fantastic, but ... mmm. SPN's not quite to that level of writing genius.

As far as Jared, I'm still not entirely sure it was just the character. Though I like Sam more than I liked Dean in Gilmore Girls. But Dean Winchester just jumped out and grabbed me from the first eps I watched.

Sam and the demon blood is reminding me of Forever Knight and how mortals could become addicted to vampire blood.

There's angel magna? Have no exposure to magna other than the books/videos Nin reads and occasionally tells me about. The last angle related thing I watched was HEX, and I still need to watch the second season. And the Adept books by Katherine Kurtz deal with the Archangels.

Angel Sanctuary by Kaori Yuki (http://www.geocities.com/organic_angel/frames.html). It's one of the few female slanted manga titles I've read from beginning to end, it's the only one I loved. One of my favorite manga titles as well. I always recommend it. I'd esp. to you, since you're a fan of angel lore. 20 volumes long, all have been released in the US. I'm sure online scans exist out there, though.
