I'm such a fan of clothing from that era. I own one vintage dress, a silk tea dress from the late twenties. And one purse from the same era that I actually use on the rare occasions I go out.
I wonder how many women hurled bricks at windows wearing something so nice, along with all the other stuff many of them got up to like purposely running under a horse or bombing the Westminster Abbey.
Not that I'm not grateful for their efforts - far from it! - just curious about the use of such a word in the context of what does look like a really lovely piece of clothing :)
