Hmmm. What I need is something that will let me put the vhs tapes I have which are out of print onto DVDs. They're never going to put them on DVD.

I hooked a DVD recorder up to record my VHS tapes. I just used my regular VCR, hit play and the DVD recorder recorded it through the TV. I know they do sell VHS/DVD Recorder combo units so you don't have to go to that much trouble.

I tried that, but the copy protection on the VHS defeats me. I have a combo unit. Sigh.

I'm not mechanically inclined, and the idea of hooking the vcr unit on one into the tv and the dvd unit from the other recording it hurts my head.
