I found it somewhat odd looking at the other "vintage" dresses as the ones from the 1930's and 1940's remind me of the dresses my Mother used to sew in the 1950's. The vintage dresses from the 1950's look too Hollywood.
That flapper dress looks like something my Dad's mother used to wear with a cloche hat, sort of like this one (http://www.poshgirlvintage.com/1920s-purple-felt-cloche-p-52.html), but with a bit more of a brim.
Awww, I love clothes from the 20's! That site has some really beautiful dresses. I have a dress I bought a while ago for a Xmas party, and it reminds me of a flapper dress because it has the fringes on the bottom. I've only worn it at Halloween since then though. I just wish I had more occasions to dress up. I'm normally in jeans and a t-shirt!
OK, I just had to post a photo of the dress! I stuck it at the very bottom of this post (http://pezgirl7.livejournal.com/18209.html), since it's F-locked.
