But in a good way. I use LJ Addon on Firefox, so I see new post titles in the bottom bit of the browser, and I see I See You, You See Me, Differently go by. I think, cool, that's a line from one of my favourite songs, Swans, and remember I wrote a fic with a title from that song several years ago, By My Side, You'll Never Be. Curious, I head to my f'list, and discover [livejournal.com profile] holde_maid has used my story as a time stamp for her [livejournal.com profile] hl_chronicles fic! I always give permission for my stories to be used in remixes and the like, but goodness knows, I never expected anyone to take me up on it! It's so cool!! I'm going to sit here and be stunned a bit more before reading it :D

I'd forgotten I started the New Year with a PWP I finished off for [livejournal.com profile] medie's 'Porning in the New Year' challenge! The Spaniard was that particular story.

As for the rest of the year...

DVD Commentarys )

For some reason, I thought I hadn't written as much as last year, but I guess I wrote more than I thought I did! Quite a bit more, actually.

A compendium of fic I've posted here on my journal since March 2006. The entirety of my fiction can be found on my archive, Tales From the Darkwood. But I do tend to be behind updating there by a few months, so the newest fic can always be found here.

After consultation with my peeps, I was convinced to post this in parts as I write it, as opposed to postng it all at once when I'm finished. We'll see how that idea works out :)

This is a sequel to 'By My Side, You'll Never Be', and is another Highlander/Holby City, Dan is Methos fic. Hope you enjoy it!

That Afternoon, at Holby City Hospital.... )

And many thanks to the aforementioned peeps for all their input and help! (I did add a bit more to the part, because I'm a tweaker!)

A while back, I offered to try a DVD commentary for my fic. There was one request from [livejournal.com profile] enchantersnight for this one. Obviously, I wasn’t very prompt in getting it done, but better late than never.

The whole reason for this story was the [livejournal.com profile] holbycitylounge fic challenge, “Dan Clifford is Methos”. I initially set out to write a story where Jaq, one of the doctors in Holby, was a pre-immortal, and while I liked the idea, it just never seemed to go anywhere. But along the way, it bumped me into the idea for this one: what if Daniel gave Jaq so much grief because she reminded him of someone? Now that went somewhere! And it would allow me to explore the question of just why he left Camilla at the altar.

This was actually a lot of fun, so if anyone has another request, I'm game!

    Okay, so I did a followup/sequelette.

The first one can be found here.

    Don't You Dare Laugh! II

    “Bullets.”

“Bullets? Was there some sort of firearm involved, or just bullets?” Methos asked wryly.

Annabeth punched his shoulder. “Chicago, 1924, gunned down at a speakeasy, okay?”

    “Gangster’s moll, hmm?”

Sighing, she pushed herself up, sitting against the headboard. “Taking out the garbage.”

    “Such a delightful gangster euphemism.”

“No, I was taking out the damn garbage! Sometimes I served drinks, but mostly I was the cleaning woman after closing. “

“So you took out the garbage and…?”

“Walked right into the middle of a gangland shootout.”

His laughter could be heard through the pillow as she tried to smother him.

    End

    Don't You Dare Laugh!

Methos traced the jagged scar that ran just under her right shoulder blade, to its end above her last rib, the feel of his cool fingertips making her shiver.

Rolling over, she said, “A cow kicked me into a barbed wire fence.” She grimaced. “I hate cows!”

He smothered a grin. “A cow didn’t cause your first death, did it?”

“No! And that’s not nearly as funny as you think it is,” Annabeth told him frostily. "It almost did! Spending the rest of my days as a fourteen year old…”
