A More Permanent Hell

Read the Hunger Games books this week. I'd rented the movies, though I fell asleep part way through two - twice. Books weren't bad, though definitely not a cheery read. By the time you get to the end, you have the urge to get totally drunk and sing Disney tunes. Should make for a movie where you'll just want to cling to your friends after it's all over.

Speaking of Disney tunes -- the rendition of the song from Pinocchio on the Age of Ultron trailer is exquisitely creepy.

I just got an email from Amazon that the newest Clare Fergusson and Russ Van Alstyne Mystery was just shipped! I'd preordered it so long ago, I'd forgotten about it. I adore this series!! Love the characters, and it's one of my favourite series, even though I'm not much of a mystery reader.

As I mentioned last week, A.C. Crispin has an official PotC prequel coming out, and on her website, she's posted some excerpts. I finally had a chance to read the excerpts, and my reaction? Want book now! [g] Her Jack really rings true, and goodness knows, he is not an easy character to write. My few attempts over the years have had a tendency to make my brain hurt. But the Jack I read in the excerpts, I could 'hear' in my head. Yay! What I read sucked me right in and left me with the burning desire to turn pages that weren't there.

The novel isn't up for preorder yet on Amazon, but they do have an 'email me when there's info' option, so I'll have to settle on that for now.

A.C. Crispin is writing an official prequel to Pirates of the Caribbean, 'The Price of Freedom', and it will be released in May. Apparently, the novel is considered canon (at least right now [g]. I guess we'll see how it collides with my own thoughts on pre PotC Jack. At least it will be a good book, regardless if it jibes! (She wrote Sarek, one of my favourite Star Trek novels)
