What a shame!

My thoughts exactly, although I can understand wanting to get a ruling on those accounting practices (evil bloody numbers..).

I wonder who they'll go for instead? We watched Return of the King again last night (something Rob avoids because it makes him homesick) and they did such a good job considering how in depth Tolkein was and how little time (comparatively) a filmaker has to get all that across. Would anyone else even bother to maintain continuity in terms of style, scripting etc?

As for more prequels *face!palm* some things are best left to the written word.

Prequel? Based on what?

Hm, the Silmarillion? Unfinished Tales?

Let it go, dudes.

What I'd read earlier in the week was a bridge movie between the Hobbit and LOTR. Which would be kind of cool since it would be lots of Gandalf and Elves [g] I'm assuming it would be about the White Council, and realizing it was Sauron, etc. I'll take what I can get [g]

Well, yeah - you and Elves ::snicker::

I'm not saying I wouldn't go see it :) especially if Ian McKellan was still playing Gandalf, but I'd miss the scruffy glory of Aragon.

I think Aragorn would be in it. He did head the Rangers, and they were pivotal players during that time.

OOOOooooo! And he and Legolas already knew each other, so Orlando would have to go blond again :)

Scruffy good!

Thanks for posting this, Ith!
*pensive* I'm not sure that I'll want to see this in the cinema if it's not directed by PJ. It will end up on tv eventually, anyhow.

Oh, that's a shame. I'm so sorry to hear that New Line isn't reasonable about this. I really wanted to see PJ do this.
