So we've finally started watching all the Merlins we have on the DVR (we just finished E07). We're really enjoying it despite the fact that the historical inaccuracy is making my toes curl. I really wish somebody somewhere would make a a TV series or a movie using the actual time period, etc.. Anyway, back to Merlin. I am enjoying it, but as usual, I don't have a lot of interest in the leads - I'm drawn to Morgana and really wish she played a bigger part. I don't like Arthur at all, though Merlin is sweet in a dorky teenage boy sort of way.

More Morgana!

That Lancelot comes back. Him I liked.

The Merlin in the stocks thing ends; it's getting really old.

Arthur displays something to make him worthy to be *the* Arthur.

Some sort of idea how a lady's maid becomes Arthur's queen. Assuming they even stick with that part of the legend, of course.

And yes, you may spoil me with abandon!

Anything that doesn't involve a big honking fantasy land castle would be a fine place to start [g] And I'd throw away all the shiny fake velvet - they must have hit a closeout at the fabric store!

So you're looking at probably tenth through twelfth century AD, probably Celtic in nature? or earlier - sixth and seventh? Possibly layered tunics for both men and women, sideless surcoats, a kind of tights or breeches on the men, but more likely chainmail than any real armor?

And fortresses instead of castles.

I can see that.

Preferably early sixth century, but I'm easy :) As long as there's no damn castles LOL

I have a nice linen set, a plain greyish-natural tunic with long straight sleeves which button at the wrists and a blue linen sideless surcoat which I love in summer because it's so cool. Very nice for the hot days.

My full Tudor I only wear in the winter, and it's not velvet, it's brocade. And it's still hot.
